1.) A level of hell voluntarily inhabited by a number of one-note fictional characters: I found myself trapped in Downton, scheming and acting better than everyone.

1.) To be surprised by somebody lurking in doorways, staircases, or around corners, while getting hit with a scathing, biting remark: I totally got Downtoned after goofing on Frank without realizing he was right behind me.
Beth and I started watching Downton Abbey in January of 2011 after seeing a fair amount of positive reviews for the show online and from friends. Immediately, we were taken by the meticulously crafted ambiance, costumes, and set design. Soon we couldn't stop ragging on the endless self-imposed misery of the poor souls trapped in the lavish bowels of this period piece/splinter of Hell. Running jokes emerged, alcohol flowed, and fun was had.
We decided to start this blog for those, like us, who have been duped into watching a few episodes and became hooked. Not because we feel it's a quality show, per se, but because poor little
Mostly, though, we can't stop watching even though it's basically just a soap opera with a budget, and we wanted to share our ways of coping.
